The Adventurers

Clearly, Disney finally realized that portraying woman as helpless creatures who need a man's love to be happy wasn't what little girls needed to be hearing. This was no way to show a little girl how to carry herself! This prediciment called for a change. They went through something what's known as the Design Process.

Identifying the Problem

Thus, New Princesses Were Born

Disney's first step to solving this problem was to figure out what it actually was.

Though they still relied on men heavily for happiness, they began to have their own stories & adventures. This change helped Disney convy the message of curiosity to the younger genertion, which is just why the made the adjustments.

Heroines

Brainstroming

The animators at Disney then brainstormed ideas and characters that could potentially solve this problem

Developing a Plan

Disney then must have had to come up with numerous different plans to fix this issue.

Making a Model

They then created new princesses

1992

After going through the Design Process a few more times and discovering that the prinesses they previously put out were still very relyant on men(I mean come on, Arial GAVE UP HER VOICE for a chance to be with a man)Disney finaly began putting princesses in the movies that were better role models for little girls.

From Dansels in Destress to Heroines

Disney Animation Studios began their long line of princesses with characters like Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. They then transitioned over to characters like Tiana, Rapunzel, and Elsa and Ana. So what caused this change? What even is the change?

Independant Women

The Need-A-Man-To-Be-Happy Ladies

In their newest, most current version of prinesses, Disney had finally succeeded in creating independen women who don't rely on men for all their happiness. They had to make this change due to our everchanging society & the need to instill selfconfidence in our younger generation.

For starters, Disney released the princesses Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. These girls are very much passavists. They don't fight for their own rights, and they rely deeply on men for happiness.
