Oxygen has the same number of protons, nuetrons, and electrons which is eight. It's atomic mass is 16 and it's atomic number is 8. The state of oxygen at room temperature is a solid, I classify it as a nonmetal.

The BackStory

In the dimension of Element, there was a hero named, OXYGEN. He was the kind and superhero of among all. He was also the favorite superhero of all the inhabitants of the island because he was so easily accessible. The inhabitants depended very much on him because he supplied life into the inhabitants of the people. Oxygen was always all around the island. He composed 21% of the air that the inhabitants of the island used to breathe. Without him, the inhabitants would all suffocate and die because they could not breathe. He had a very cheerful disposition and is usually colorless. Though when he gets excited his color turns into bright red or yellow green. The one mentioned above is when he is in his gaseous form. He also has two other forms of solid and liquid wherein he turns into the blue color. What makes Oxygen such a favorite for all the other superheroes is that he is so powerful that he can actually combine and join forces with all the other superheroes and go against the villains, the Inert Gases( well, in real life, the gases are not really against Oxygen, but it is actually the only element that cannot combine with Oxygen, so for the story’s sake, I made inert gases into a villain. ) As with all superheroes, of course Oxygen also has a logo. His logo is an O with an 8 inside of it. Oxygen is most usually in his gaseous state. Whenever he gets mad, he reaches a certain boiling point of -182.95 degrees Celsius. And when he reaches boiling point, he becomes very powerful but then this form has an after effect. He goes into his freezing point -218.4 degrees Celsius. What’s nice about Oxygen is that whenever he is weak after a fight, he can regenerate produced through the electrolysis of water or by heating potassium chlorate. Aside from being a superhero, Oxygen has many other uses. He can be used in steelmaking, welding, water purification, cement. It is also required for supporting life and combustion. Nowadays, he protects us from the sun’s UV rays but he is becoming weaker and weaker. Despite all these traits of the superhero Oxygen, he is slowly being depleted and becoming weaker and weaker because of human abuse. The main hideout of Oxygen, the ozone layer, is slowly getting destroyed. Humans must take more initiative to preserve him or else he may be completely lost forever.
