"The Israeli government has opposed Palestinian students from Gaza studying in the West Bank universities"

difficult year:

  • summer conflict in Gaza
  • increased tensions across the West Bank
  • breakdown in negotiations (no progress in the Middle East Peace Process)
  • Restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation

Palestina -> Libano

Palestine participated in the Tempus programme with 14 on-going projects, 5 of which are coordinated by Palestinian universities.

n. 205 Palestinian students and staff were selected in 2014 within partnerships supported by Erasmus Mundus and 2 students received scholarships to participate in joint master's programme.

Due to a structural deficit, Palestinian higher education institutions were unable to accept all students that wished to continue their studies. Almost all higher education institutions were private entities and were underfunded because of low tuition fees and limited public contributions
