How was it solved?

They were able to get survivor statements to help piece together what had occurred.

They could have done a urine analysis or a blood analysis from any of the victims in the incident.

Why?

Jim Jones knew after the death of the congressman that the US would have people come in to get who was responsible for the murders that had occurred. He forced everyone to make a suicide pact.

Suicide or Murder?

918 people died there on November 18th 1978

1 was Jim Jones who has gunshot in his head. They don't know if he killed himself or not.

5 were killed at the airport trying to escape the cult ( 1 was a congressman from California)

912 people died from the poison

276 were children- Children did not know what was going on.

Who?

Jim Jones was head of the cult known as the "Peoples Temple"

It was a church that was originally made to help spread racial equality.

People were once there by free will but then it all changed....

It became a communist communituy

The church started in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved around. It ended up in Guyana. This was their way of trying to make it so the US government could not involve itself in the Church.

Arsenic and Valium were put into the Flavor-aid so people would drink it and die.

Mothers and children drank it first.

It only took 5 minutes after drinking it for the people to fall to their death.
