What happened continued

A skirmish occured between Bradburn and the colonists. Bradburn said that he would release the lawyers if the left Anahuac. not everyone left Anahuac so Bradburn called in more forces. After another fight the colonist needed more power so while the colonist made their camp at Turtle Bayou John Austin went to Brazoria to get a cannon.

What happened?

Why did it happen/ what was the cause?

When Bradburn arrested two lawyers William B. Travis and Patrick C. Jack for interfering in his attempts to enforce the law. About 160 settlers in two groups marched to Anahuac to demand their release. The brother of one of the prisoners William H. Jack, lead one group from San Felipe and John Austin lead the other from Brazoria.

The settlers didn't protest just because of Bradburn ( though that was the main reason ) they also protested because they didn't like the taxes and some of the laws. And this was a reason to take out their anger.

When was it?

The protest occured in May of 1832

Protest at Anahuac

Who started it?

John Davis Bradburn started it when he imprisoned two lawyers William B. Travis and Patrick C. Jack for interfering in his attemps to enforce the laws.

Where was it?

Anahuac

How it lead to the Revolution

Even though the protest didn't do much by itself it confirmed the Mexican governments fears. The texans were getting bolder and were ready to fight. So that only made the government hold a tighter rein on the texans which in turn made the texans even angrier. And the circle kept on going until the finally it came to the American Revolution.
