Marriage

-Got married early

-Groom was often much older than the Bride

-Parents arranged the marriage

-Was treated as more of a business agreement between the families

-Wealthy girls and boys parents would set them up together to increase family wealth

-Peasants girls marriage was difficult and up to their feudal lord

Women:

-wore gowns over petticoats

- gowns had narrow sleeves

-women kept a narrow silhouette, but it widened in the 1560s in the hips and shoulders

-married and older women covered their hair

Men:

-wore collared linen shirts with wrist ruffs

-over that was a padded and stiff doublet

- v-shaped front

-wore different types of hose and most stopped at the knee

-They had Susanna on May 26, 1583 and twins Judith an Hamnet on Feb. 2, 1585

-There were no records for 7 years

-1592- records of being a playwright and actor

-1597-he had 15 plays published

-wrote tragedy, comedy and history

-supposedly died April 23, 1616, but records say he was buried April 5.
