Spinach plant parts

Flower

The flower is helpful and has pollen.Inside the flower there is a seed that when the plant dies the seed falls of and makes a new plant. The flowers provide the nectar for the bees to make honey for us to eat.

Leaves

The leaves are the part of the plant that makes food for the whole plant. It uses water, sunlight, air and the nutrients from the soil the stem brings them from the roots. The plant makes food going through the process of photosynthesis.

Stem

The stem of a plant holds the upper part of the plant up to the sun so it can use the sunlight to make food for the process of photosynthesis. The stem of the plant that acts like a straw. The stem of the plant sucks up the water and nutrients from the roots that give it to them. They bring the water and nutrients to the rest of the plant.

Roots

SEED

Roots keep the plant in place. The roots suck up water for the plant. The roots help bring the food for the plant. They grow long to get water. They grow in the ground to keep the plant steady. They search for water and bring it to the plant.

The seed grows into the plant. If there were no seeds there would no plants. If there was no trees there would be no leaves so there would be no air. Then we would not be able to breathe. we would not be humans on this planet.

Spinach grows best when it grows

in rich nitrogen soil. Since spinach grows in the winter pests are not a problem. Spinach blight,a virus spread by aphids, causes yellow leaves and

stunted plants.
