This book is about a boy named Cort who lives on a house boat with his Dad and dog catfish. Cort and his dad have to prepare the boat because a huge hurricane is coming. So Cort and his dad go to a Liza and Francine's house which are there nearby friends. Also, Corts Mom doesn't live with him. To add on, Cort's Dad loves to go hunting for alligators and he catches a huge one that almost does something to Cort. To add on, with the hurricane coming the parents are out doing things. Which makes Cort, Liza and Francine alone.
