-improving:

alertness

concentration

energy

Would drinking an energy drink help out a runner?

Yes and No. It depends on the distance you are running. If the race is a short sprint or less than a mile long, then drinking an energy drink would be helpful. Running long distance (ex. 10K, Marathon) an energy would not help.

In terms of basic physiology and biochemistry what does the statement a lack of sleep causes a lack of energy mean?

It does not mean you have less energy, but sleep does give your body time to rebuild your muscles. A lack of sleep causes drowsiness and a lack of concentration, but not a lack of energy.

Carbonated water

Carbonated water is water which contains carbon dioxide gas. The gas creates small bubbles in the water, leading to a bubbly texture which some people find quite enjoyable. This product is also sometimes known as bubbly water or sparkling water. Some people believe that it can help an upset stomach.

•Niacinamide empowers the body to convert carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into energy and amino acids.

•Promotes good health and function of skin.

Niacinamide

A different way for a consumer that necessary doesn't need the energy could be a college student trying to stay awake to finish a project. The caffeine, sugar, and Vitamin B would keep them up in order to finish.

What is the body's normal response to increased intake of sugar?

Anxiety, Light-headedness,Fatigue, Headache, Irritability.

vs

Coke

AMP

Enjoys broad usage for abilities to increase energy, strength, and athletic performance.

Important in the body's energy's metabolism of fats and carbohydrates.

Vitamin B5 is required to gain resistance to stress, shock, and allergies, plus protection against radiation-caused cellular damage.

If the body takes in too much sugar, you can get a "sugar high." But after the high, the body has a decrease in energy.

•Necessary for the release and regulation of energy

Effective for

  • Breast pain
  • Depression
  • Reducing high blood levels

•Essential for carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism and their conversion into energy.

Provides energy

•Increases energy level.

Great at Preventing migraine headaches and cataracts.

What is the body's normal response to increased intake of caffeine?

Some people experience insomnia, headaches, irritability and nervousness.

  • 12oz can contains 125mg of caffeine
  • 12oz can contains 35mg of caffeine
  • 39g of sugar
  • 50g of sugar

Caffeine

  • Has less B vitamins
  • long lasting energy compared to coke

Guarana

  • Guarana is used for weight loss, to enhance athletic performance, as a stimulant, and to reduce mental and physical fatigue.
  • Is basically caffeine but has a few different characteristics. Some report that Guarana works better, while others believe it doesn’t have as good of a stimulating effect.

Maltodextrin

  • Powder often found in snack foods (ex. Potato chips or crackers)
  • Considered safe by the FDA
  • Provides energy but does not repair body tissue.

Having withdrawals can occur when someone stops taking it abruptly. Symptoms that can occur from withdrawals include:

-headache

-fatigue

-anxiety

-irritability

-depressed mood

-difficulty concentrating

Taurine

  • Some studies show it helps with excitable brain states.
  • Too much can cause illness and may give you stress.

AMP is legit!

  • Taurine is an nonessential amino acid that your body naturally produces. It helps regulate heartbeat, muscle contractions, and energy.
  • Does not provide Energy

Sodium Benzoate

Most claims that AMP energy says are true, and the drink is healthier than most energy drinks. With the 5 different B vitamins, high sugar, and caffeine. The claims AMP makes are true.

There are no known dangers or benefits that come from sodium benzoate. This includes gaining energy.

It is a salt that comes from benzoic acid and is used as a preservative in foods. When you mix sodium hydroxide with benzoic acid you get sodium benzoate.
