Differentiating Product
We generally differentiate in three ways:
Content- What of instruction
Process- How of instruction
Product- Evidence of instruction
Differentiating content means that teachers can vary the level of complexity
Differentiating process means that teachers can vary the learning activities based on the students interests or learning styles.
Differentiating product means the students have a choice in how they demonstrate what they have learned.
Teacher Candidates were placed into small groups based on their teaching differences and their individual needs.
First week was inventory: interests, learning styles and knowledge.
Then information is shared so students can see how they too are different.
Teacher candidates work in interdisciplinary teams to develop a thematic unit that they can use regardless of their subject or content area. Teams are composed of three candidates from three different disciplines.
Use of cubing helps teacher candidates to improve their critical thinking skills.
By providing multiple paths to a learning goal using a variety of strategies to address students' learning styles, interests, needs and readiness levels, teacher candidates can engage all students in differentiated instruction that is appealing, developmentally appropriate and motivational.

Reading Levels: Focus on reading levels within a classroom is critical for meeting students needs.
