US Army Cavalry Scout

Scouts serve as the eyes and

ears of the commander on the battlefield.

Duties:

-Conduct patrols into enemy territory

via light recon vehicles or on foot

-retrieve crucial intel on enemy force

and location

-4 to 6 man squads with very limited firepower

HUGE emphasis on stealth

-Deployment overseas inevitable

-Serve as a protector for the infantry and

other combat elements on the ground

Training:

-4 months at Fort Benning,

Georgia for BCT(Basic Combat

Training), AIT(Advanced Ind.

Training), and OSUT(One Station

Unit Training)

-High School Diploma is favorable,

but a GED works too

Future Outlook:

Until the world can work together and

peace is established, there will always be a

need for the military. Therefore, Scouts

will always be needed. Many enlistees overlook

this MOS which provides more openings in this field.
