Cell analogy- prison

By: Isaac Jaimes Galarza & Ana Acosta

Ms. Watkins B4 Biology

Nucleus

The nucleus is the brain of the cell.

The nucleus controls the cell's

reproduction, eating, and

movement. The nucleus is like the

jail warden because the warden

controls all of the aspects of the prison.

Both the warden and the nucleus are extremely important.

Mitochondria

Golgi Apparatus

The mitochondria is the power generator. The mitochondria is very important because it powers the cell. The prison generator powers the prison as well.

The golgi apparatus is like the prison transport procession. The golgi apparatus combines molecules into packages. They ship things out and recieve things in as well.

Endoplasmic Reticulum

The endoplasmic reticulum is like a hallway its job is to transport proteins. Therefore the proteins are transported from one location within the cell to another. This is like a prison hallway.

Cell membrane

Ribosomes

Receptor Protein

The ribosomes are the cooks. When the cell needs protein they go to the ribosomes. They provide protein for the cell.

The receptor protein are the "guards". They keep track of the hormones. The guards keep track of the prisoners and the prisoners are the hormones.

Cell membrane acts as the "fence". The prison fence protects the warden and prison. Therefore the cell membrane keeps unwanted substances out.

Channel Protein

The channel protein is the protein that allows the movement of substances within the cell. They allow transportation of proteins across the cell membrane. They protect the "fence".
