Some cities allow teens to be out pass curfew hours if they have to work, attend classes, or respond to an emergency.

Most curfew hours are from 10:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M.

Curfew laws are set at local level, meaning they are enacted by the city or county government.

Also being out after curfew hours can result in the restriction of driver's licenses privileges.

Juveniles out during curfew hours can be detained, meaning that the local police can choose to bring the teen home or to keep the teen in their custody until the parents or guardian takes them home.

The peak of adult crime rate is at 10 P.M.

Without a curfew, teens usually don't have a reasonable sleep cycle, causing sleep deprivation and a lack of focus in school.

Juveniles can also be fined, which increases for subsequent violations.

70% of crimes happen at night.

In a few cities curfew violations require the child and parent to attend a 3-hr workshop to discuss the importance of being inside during curfew hours.
