Disposal
The pencil that remains after being used is thrown away and the wooden part decomposes. The shavings also decompose. THe metal part and eraser do not decompose.
Material Acquisition
Manufacturing.
They have to find the proper blend of graphite and clay to serve as the lead.
Then they must get the wood and a good material for the eraser.
Graphite and clay is mixed to form lead. It is then encased by two slabs of wood, which are then sawed down to the width of the pencils.

Consumer use/Maturity
The pencil is sold.
The consumer then sharpens the pencil and writes with it until the point dulls or breaks.
The pencil is then sharpened again until the pencils are all gone.
Packaging & Transportation/Distribution.
Marketing
The pencils are put in brightly colored boxes before being shipped off to retailers.
Generally they are transported by 18 wheelers and are later shelved and sold.
The company must convince consumers their pencil is a good product. This is done through ads and a clever name for their product.
