PROCEDURES

  • Line up outside classroom
  • Remain quiet in hall
  • Enter classroom quietly
  • Get Instrument and assemble
  • Copy "ROD" or

rhythm of the Day

in notebook or agenda

  • Check board for

directions

  • Leave class only after being dismissed
  • Proceed to next class quietly

Rules

  • Follow All Directions
  • Be Prepared
  • Be On Task
  • Be Respectful
  • Be On Time

Consequences

  • Verbal Warning
  • "In House" assignment
  • Parent Contact
  • Written Warning
  • Detention
  • Office Referral

Expectations

  • Arrive at class and rehearsals with all necessary items
  • Instrument, music, pencil, supplies, good attitude, willingness to work and succeed
  • Keep adequate supplies
  • Bring your agenda EVERY DAY!
  • Be ready to begin

GRADING

Homework-Practice Records = 10%

Classwork = 30%

Tests, both written and playing = 40%

Daily Participation = 20%

Projects are considered tests

Performances are playing tests that equal 2 test grades!! EEK!!!

Send pass-offs, playing tests to director instead of playing in class

Band Fee is $20

Auditions in December...Perform in February

Requirements are chromatic scale (full range), 4 major scales, and Sight Reading

PRACTICE RECORDS

100 minutes weekly for an A

Easy to do!

Must be turned in weekly

Counts as homework

10% 0f grade
