The roles that rules play
in a society are very important
because without rules, there
is no society. Rules are the
buliding blocks in a society.
In the book, after Jones
is banished from the barnyard, the pigs assume the position as their leaders because they believe the well-educated animals should be in charge.
After the pigs have assumed control
of the farm, they rename the farm
"Animal Farm." Napoleon and Snowball
have gained control and are trying to
leading the other animals the way Old
Major described that night in the barn.
Soon after they assume the
position as their leaders, Napoleon
runs Snowball out of the farm and has Squealer change the rules to fit the other pigs needs as well as Napoleon, then the concept of Animalism is lost.
The book is an allegory,
telling about the Russian Revolution.
The flags have the same
comcept: Both Russia and
Animal Farm are independent.
The point is that without rules, a society will fall apart.
