Contribution to contemporary day

Commencing with a focus on Science, Alice Augusta Ball's contribution to S.T.E.M was her research where she teamed up with a local surgeon to isolate active chemicals in chaulmoogra oil in order to successfully create a leprosy treatment.

Alice Augusta Ball not only broke barriers being African American but also being a woman. She definitely set an example being the first to accomplish such success. She demonstrated that it was possible for women to be educated as throughout history women have been denied the right to education. Her accomplishment gravely impacted African Americans as before the end of the civil war, the education of black slaves in the United States was a criminal endeavor.
