I hope you enjoyed!

Springer, Nancy. The Case of the Missing Marquess: An Enola Holmes Mystery. New York: Philomel, 2006. Print.

I would recommend this book to a friend because there is a lot of action, adventure and bad guys. Once I got into the heart of the story, it kept me on the edge of my seat. Enola's had many adventures, trying to solve two crimes at once!

Theme

Bravery is the main theme because Enola put herself in unsafe situations. She did not show fear and did not give up.

Main Events

Inciting incident: Enola's mom goes missing.

Rising action: Marquess gets kidnapped.

Climax: Enola and Lord Tewksbury escape from the villans on the boat.

Plot

The problem in the story is when Enola's mom goes missing on Enola's birthday and Marquess is kidnapped just a short time after that. Enola tries to find both of them. This novel represents "man vs. man" because there are some villains in the story.

Characters

The main characters are Enola Holmes, a sister of Sherlock Holmes, and Marquess, Lord Tewksbury. The story revolves mainly around Marquess.

  • Protagonist: Enola Holmes
  • Antagonists: The villans who try to capture Enola and Lord Tewksbury.
  • Supporting Characters: Sherlock Holmes and Enola's mom.

Setting

The settings are London, England and a boat. The boat is where most of the action takes place.

Summary

Point of view

When Enola turns fourteen, her mom goes missing. Enola runs away to London to find her. While trying to find information in a newspaper, she realizes that Marquess, Lord Tewksbury, is also missing. She suddenly finds herself involved with this kidnapping. Can she save him and find her mom at the same time?

Enola tells the story from her point of view ( first person).
