Pancreas

How the pancreas helps you.

PANCREAS"

The pancreas produces chemicals that are crucial for blood sugar regulation and proper digestion. It is an abdominal gland .

FACTS

WERES THE pancreas

In humans, the pancreas is located in the center of the abdomen and is therefore near several organs. It is closest to (and physically touches) the small intestine, the stomach and the spleen.

The pancreas is probably an organ you've never really thought about. It is located in the upper part of your tummy (abdomen) behind your stomach, and is protected by your ribs in the back. The pancreas can be described as having a head, body and a tail. The head is located more toward your liver on the right, while the tail runs to your left, under your stomach, a nearly to your spleen.

The pancreas has two general jobs which are very important = it releases digestive juices (enzymes) and that process is called an exocrine function. The other general job it does is putting different chemical messengers called hormones into your blood, which help with a wide variety of functions in your body. This job is called an endocrine process.

WHATS A PANCREAS

your pancreas has 3 parts called head, neck, tail.

The pancreas is a spongy tanish-pink gland organ about 6 inches (15 cm) long that stretches across the back of the abdomen, behind the stomach. It produces the body's supply of insulin and digestive enzymes juices . Enzymes secreted include lipases that digest fat.

The pancreas is a long flattened gland located deep in the belly (abdomen). Because the pancreas isn’t seen or felt in our day to day lives, most people don't know as much about the pancreas as they do about other parts of their bodies. The pancreas is, however, a vital part of the digestive system and a critical controller of blood sugar levels

how the

pancreas keeps you alive

The pancreas has two roles in the human body. The first function is to produce enzymes that break our food down small enough to be absorbed into our body. The pancreas makes juices that help digest the proteins and starches.

the pancreas also helps the amount off sugar in your body.
