Summary
A girl named poppy does not have a mom or dad and she is living with her grandma. Her grandma is in a hospital because of a stroke. And she was a witness of a robbery and she has to go into the witness protection program. She meets a police officer and then she meats gunner an adorable german shepherd but the officers are trying to get rid of gunner. But poppy adopts gunner. And the robber goes to jail.

Dianna was writing books ever since she was nine. She has also written A Smidgen of Sky and A Silver of sun. She has a 14 year old daughter and two step children.She also has two dogs a Dachshund and a Chihuahua. She volunteers every week to answer questions about the bible.
The setting is important to this book because the main setting of the story is in a hospital and if there was no hospital poppy's grandma would have been dead because there was nobody to treat her. It would also be different because poppy would not have to stay with her aunt
