Eragon is not the only connections I can make. The way tragedy strikes in Dark Water Rising I think is like Witch and Wizard. In Witch and Wizard both Whit and Wisty never knew about what will happen.But in Dark Water Rising the storm which was origanally thought to be normal. Turns into a powerful storm or a full on hurricane out of nothing and suprised all the citizens.

Seth the oldest sibling of his family is forced to move to Galveston. Only Seth dislikes the move ,and doesn't want anything to do with Galveston. But soon enough one storm turns his life upside down
Connections
Dark Water Rising is one of those few special where it connects you to the book. A book where it connects you to the feelings of the characters, and you actually lets care about them. Another book I know that does that is Eragon. even though there is some glaring differences like dragons and magic there is still similarities. Both Seth and Eragon have to leave home, both of them feel uncomfortable in their new places. There is probably more similarities, but for my demonstration two is enough.
Continued Summery
After the storm Seth has to overcome challenge over challenge while life goes back to normal. He has to endure greif, some of his family not yet found, his dad going away to rebuild, and love. I say for you to find out what happens to Seth how he figures out his problems. Read the book, experience his life, his feelings, his ideas, and love the adventure.
