Coretta King was born April 27, 1927. She was an inspiring civil rights activist, author, peace prize owner, singer, and the wife of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

She graduated from Antioch with a B.A. in music and education and won a scholarship to study concert singing at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

Coretta King passed away from respiratory failure. Respiratory failure is a condition where not enough oxygen passes from your lungs into your blood. She passed away Jannuary 30th, 2006.
Yes she is dead, but her legacy will live on forever.
On October 12, 2004 she was awarded the Gandhi Peace Award in Atlanta as part of the 135th birth anniversary celebrations for Mahatma Gandhi.
