Career
Tilley was fighting for responsible government and became the premier in 1861.
He also wanted New Brunswick to join the Confederation, but they didn't like it and removed him from being premier. A year later New Brunswick decided that they liked the confederation and Tilley won the next election and was named premier again. Then New Brunswick decided to join Canada.
In 1831 he became an apprentice druggist at Saint John
He was a very strong supporter of the Confederation. He was also a delegate to other conferences all over the country. He also supported the Quebec Resolutions. In the summer of 1866 he passed on a resolution to support the Confederation.
