There is also the very likely possibility that the businesses themselves are creating air pollution, through improper running of factories and substandard regulation of factory emissions.
Air pollution can have many negative affects on individuals and households. When air is polluted, it contains harmful particles and gases, some of which may be carcinogens. This air can cause serious respiratory and cardiovascular issues.
If a business is located in an area where the air is known to be polluted, it may not get as much traffic as it would if it were in an area where the air was cleaner. Also, the pollution has the potential to cause sickness in the employees of said business, which in turn can cause the business to loose money if workers are calling out.
My household did not seem too worried about air pollution. This is maybe because it hasn't affected anyone we know personally, or the affects on the environment aren't too extensive yet.

If Florida-or on a larger scale, America-was to find a solution to air pollution, it could be a great example for other areas that also suffer from air pollution to follow.

In a round-about way, if a business is losing money due to employees calling out because of illnesses caused by air pollution, the government is also affected. The government may loose money through a drop in profits or taxes in the area with the polluted area.

On a smaller scale, plants and animals are being affected by air pollution just as much as other countries may be. Air pollution has a devastating effect on natural habitats, through emissions from factories and cars. If air pollution is affecting habitats here in Florida, then it certainly is affecting habitats in the rest of America, and throughout the world.
