We have the unique capacity to dream and reflect on the things in our lives and the world around us. But not only about how things are, but as they could or should be.

Art is a tool used to cope with or better understand the world we live in.

It is difficult to predict how it will affect people and influence their subsequent behavior.

Art can change opinions and challenge standard or problematic views of the world.

It is also recognized as a tool.

The artist as storyteller. Reflecting the world back out through their own personal lens.

The best art should ask you to think. Powerful art should prompt you to ask questions and put you into doubt surrounding your own preconceived notions. Or, it should just be beautiful. Right?
