In a motor there is two

permanent magnets stuck

inside there is also a shaft

with a lot of wire coils

wrapped around it.

Did you know?

The shaft gets hundreds

of little magnetic pushes

every second. That turns electric energy into mechanical energy.

A motor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.

How it works

When current flows in the coil, it

becomes an electromagnet. The

permanent magnet repels the

electromagnet, because both poles

are the same. The shaft attached to

the coil turns.
