Rome Government

Rome has two consuls, meaning that there are two leaders of Rome's Empire.

-Consuls were elected by the people.

-These leaders are in for only one year.

-This senate consists of 300 people mainly patricians.

-Rome balanced power and divided into three branches.

Executive Branch

Legislative Branch

Judicial Branch

American Government

-America's government is a republic with a mix of democracy as well as ancient Rome.

-One chosen leader named the president

-Able for 4 years plus more if elected again

American Senate

The Impact

The impact on Rome's government is that the consuls may not agree, and if there is only one person in charge all that is need to be done is to go through the senate.

America has only 100 senate members which is just enough for passing the law

Games of Rome

-Gladiators came from various lots of life.

-The majority of gladiators were criminals, slaves, prisoners of war, or volunteers who signed up to do shows for a fee.

-There were four main types of gladiator:

-In the U.S.A there are four main types of games that we play.

Basketball

Football

Baseball

Ice Hocky

-Basketball , the objective being to shoot a ball through a basket.

- Football is scoring points by getting ball into the opposing team's end zone.

-For baseball the aim is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat

-Ice hockey is when skaters use wooden or composite sticks to shoot a hard rubber puck into their opponent's net

-In the USA we use animals in our arena too

-Rome uses animals to fight in the arena as well as we do. In America we happen to use animals too. Such as horses, bulls, can cattle

Arena structure

-The floor of the arena was made of wood and was covered in sand

-"arena" refers directly to the sand

-Gladiators anyone who became a gladiator was automatically beneath the law.

-Arena Gladiatorial contests, like chariot races, were originally held in large open spaces.

-seating extended all the way around the oval stage

-Amphitheater were built of wood, but stone amphitheaters was more durable

-Gladiators anyone who became a gladiator was automatically beneath the law.

-small number of upper-class men did compete in the arena

-Just like Rome we use stadiums that do resemble in a way like the coliseum.

-was the basic model for both the Roman stadium and the Roman

-consists of a field or stage either partly or completely surrounded by a structure designed to allow spectators to stand or sit and view the event

-modern stadiums are distinguished from conventional stadiums by their enclosing roofs

-indoor sports were called arenas

-Any class lower to higher class can participate in these events

-Unlike gladiator modern America use players, and less of violence or death.

-The players however have to achieve a goal during the game such as scoring points for their team.

-We use animals in our events as did Ancient Rome.

-America and Rome had different types and objectives for their entertainment.

-The Romans had existed as an important power for over 1000 years.

- a number of emperors were murdered

- Rome was attacked by outside countries

Also the taxes were strangling the citizens

Fall of the American Capitol

-War with the England

-Independence from them

-charged too much taxes

-Britain burned down the capital

The difference of the fall of Rome to the USA is;

-still became our own country

Both did not have enough soldiers or resistance to overcome the war

Overall America and Rome had some differences and more similarities

Modern American Games

America's Military

America

The Rome Government was a mix of republic, and democracy an was particularly originated from the ancient Greeks.

USA modern stadiums

-however this was not used just for sand

Just like Rome we use stadiums that do resemble in a way like the coliseum.

The stadiums more expensive, because they have generally gotten bigger.

Relgion in the USA

-Rome and America did have the same style of structure in their stadiums and arenas too.

America Modern Games

Arena Structure

-The floor of the arena was made of wood and was covered in sand. This provided a basement under the arena

had no roof but the spectators were protected from the weather and heat of the sun by covering the Amphitheatre with sails

Fall of Rome

-Not fully sure what really happened to the fall of Rome

Some say:

- decrease in soldiers

Military of Rome
