The training was long and challenging but it was finally time for me and my fellow soldiers to go off to war. I was excited and also nervous, I tried to tell myself I would be fine and that I would be back before I knew it. It was then that I fully understood what I was in for.
I was in a cold, damp disgusting trench, this was not my idea of an adventure. Bullets flew over head whistling through the sky. Screams echoed through the trench, I shuddered at the thought of men being pierced by flying lead bullets. I wonder how long this gruesome scene will last, if only I had known it was going to be this bad.
This task was to write about the emotions the soldiers in the pictures were feeling.
The 10 minutes I was standing in line felt like a lifetime. I was waiting to sign up for the biggest adventure of my life, I felt like it was my duty to join the army and fight for my country. Not only would I be a hero I would get to travel the world see new things and meet new people.
