  • Positives: give aide to civillians, humanitarian aide, the goal to upkeep liberal ideals, natinal interest of terrorism
  • The American government should not directlt intervene as it has no framework fo democracy to flourish and the sectarian religious groups have an ancient dispute and they have no liberal values

Supporting Arguments

To What Extent Should Liberalism Be Imposed?

  • When the American government took out the Taliban government in Afghanistan. Civillians regained some rights and freedoms, especially women. The US government stayed behind and made a stable democracy.
  • The Iraq invasion disrupted sectarian religious groups and turned into a terrorist hotbed because losts of civillians did not want their intervention.
  • The Weimar Republic failed because the Germans did not support a liberal democracy and were also having an authoritarian government.
  • Liberalism should be imposed when it is a matter of protecting civillians rights and freedoms; releasing them from being controlled from a dictator that is oppressive towards its citizens. However, they have to remain there until the democratic government is stable; they hsve to give soverignty back. On the other hand, in war torn countries that have ancient disputes and any country where most citizens are happy to remain under a dictatorship should be left alone. Especially when they do not want help.
