The Southern side of Europe during the Renaissance paid more attention to the improvement of different areas, such as literature, architecture, politics, and religion.

The Northern and Southern

Renaissance artworks were

different in many apparent

and significant ways.

The Southern Rennaissance Art began in the 1300's while the Northern Renaissance Art is believed to have started in the 1500's.

The Southern Renaissance artists were known for their frescoes, and their oil and tempera paintings. The Northern Renaissance artist were known for their oil on panel paintings.

One reason that they are different is because the Northern artists focused on religious teachings while the southern artists focused on Greek and Roman

mytholigies.

The Southern Renaissance Art time

period was more focused on symmetry,

balance,

and perspective, while

the Northern Renaissance Art was more

focused on surface detail

and naturalism.
