The End

What is it?

Urinary Calculi in goats results from mineral deposits in the urinary tract.

It prevents both urination and breeding in male goats.

The blockage of the urinary bladder might cause a rupture. This is known as water belly.

Feeding too much grain concentrates or a diet that doesn't have a proper calcium to phosphorous ration is usually the cause of Urinary Calculi.

Goats

How can diets of goats contribute to Urinary Calculi?

Urinary Calculi

Its not just grain concentrates that affect the calcium to phosphorous ratio in goats, like hay can be high in phosphorous.

Also goats that are used for showmanship are usually fed high concentrate grains which can cause them to get Urinary Calculi.

Adding calcium carbonate, limestone, to their feed can help better the calcium to phosphorous ratio.

What to do if your goat has Urinary Calculi.

Do not force your goat to drink water!!

Ammonium chloride can be used to treat Urinary Calculi.
