The Silent Barter Presentation.

The Ghara

The ghara were the guards of the trade they made it safe to trade and made sure no one got the unfair bargain. they were also the tax collectors and for every time you passed you had to pay the fee. sometimes during the trade when someone left something they would make a drum beast to tell them.

The Mali kingdom

They were west of Africa and on the Niger River. They would trade fertile plants and other farmable foods they also invented cotton, they also traded salt and gold. They were arabic and ended in 1500 AD

The Songhai

The Songhai lived in the Niger river near Mali and they also had fertile land. They traded cloth, ivory, salt, gold, farm animals, cow, cattle, sheep, honey, and leather. Trade made them very wealthy. They used iron to make swords, spears. They had learning centers where kids could learn. they ended in 1591 AD.

Extra info.

1. Africa was very hot and had mountains, valleys, and desserts, and savannahs.

2.They traded to stay alive and keep order. Salt so they could live for Gold which they used for currency.

3.Silent barter is the act of trading with someone without meeting them directly. They did it so they never knew who they were trading with so they wouldn't cause war to steal the items.

4.I was a Ghana official i had to collect the taxes and made sure things went smoothly everyone had to clap to trade and to get gold and salt.

5.It taught me how trade worked and how rich people in Ghana could get from collecting taxes.
