The Mayan people had extremely different views on work and marriage than the modern world. Peasants had to work from dawn till dusk to provide for their family, and the women took care of the home and kids. Rituals and ceremonies were important parts of thier lives, honoring different things. From birth till death, a Mayan civilian new his or her role in society, and had many celebrations helping them along the way. Although their views varied from today's, it helps us learn more about them.
