Autonomous vs. Ideological Model: Time for a Change

What is the Ideological Model of Literacy?

The Ideological model of Literacy is a new approach on literacy. This model views literacy from multiple view points, unlike the previously mentioned model.

Why is this important?

The world is constantly changing, and standardized testing can no longer complete the task it was given. Society is now diverse and everything isn't just black and white.

What is the Autonomous Model of Literacy?

The Autonomous model of literacy is the standard form of teaching by educators today. Better known as standardized testing. This model mainly focus on literacy from the view points of reading and writing.

Ideological vs. Autonomous Model

The ideological Model is a more efficient model to use because it is better equipped to deal with the task of the ever-changing world. The autonomous model fails to address the measure of literacy correctly.

Conclusion

The definition of Literacy changes day by day. Education needs a model that will embrace that change!
