What are modern values?
These value have a wide range of opinions as some show this to be many different things. One shows how Modern values represent motivations to pursue one’s own success and dominance over others or gratification for oneself, but this is at a personal level. Some other call modern values to be the ethical preferences of modernist groups. Modernists speak as if their values are New and replace purportedly outdated, backward values to fit in with today's society.
the way that traditional values are disappearing are because of are rapidly changing society that we live in. This rapidly changing society is making it so traditional values are being pushed away by people as they are to busy to value them and therefore change value to fit it with there daily lives.
Schwartz reasoned that since values are motivational goals, basic human values might be derived by considering the most basic needs of human beings, which he divides into three fundamental categories: our biological needs as individuals, our need to coordinate our actions with others, and the need of groups to survive and flourish. By considering these needs more or less a prior, Schwartz derived the following set of ten basic values. Each basic value is described in terms of its motivational goal. A set of more specific values that express the basic values.

The way that the research in the Traditional versus modern values, self-perceived interpersonal factors, and post traumatic stress in Chinese and German crime victims was done with questionnaires. This was able to make there be a lower response rate as only 86.3% were returned, with usable answers.
So the way that I am going to make the study happen is with interviews this will be with fix and multi-generational interviews that are happening. This will be that I can get a clear way of getting the answers between different people. I will be asking people traditional values and modern and keep record of the answer that people are giving me.
This can be seen by the Traditional versus modern values, self-perceived interpersonal factors, and post traumatic stress in Chinese and German crime victims.
This research shows the values that people are having within their culture and how different cultures are able to have different values that are considered to be modem. The influence of cultural factors on mental health is not disputed in general – but elaborated research approaches are still lacking. We investigate cultural influences not only by nationality but also by value orientation (modern vs. traditional). A cross-cultural comparison with Chinese and German crime victims included an assessment of value orientation according to Schwartz’s theory (Schwartz, 1994) of personal values.
The concerns that are able to rise form people doing can be the lack of understanding of the questions that they are being asked . This can make the answer be not specific to the answer as this topic is a personal values that a person has.
The interview that will be done will be an fixed and an multi-generational. this will be able to make the differences in views been seen if they are having generational views. the interviews are going to have to find how people see values and if they are going to be characterized as a modern or a traditional value. This will be asking 10 questions to people that are going o be one with each one of the values.
