Learning Objective: You will storyboard and script your instructional video.

Essential Question: What preparations will strengthen the quality of our video?

Do Now: We can and will get faster at manipulating objects in Tinkercad! Think about yesterday's design. In your notes, list all the things that were challenging about completing it.

Unit 3: Solid Modeling

Do Now: Today, your going to begin the production process for a video about your Tinkercad Tool/Shortcut!

Tinkercad Tool Demo:

Storyboard & Script

List all of the things that you think a video production team does BEFORE recording a video.

Due today

• A storyboard and script for your video (you'll record it tomorrow).
• One group memeber creates a WeVideo Account.
• Try to record a test screencast on WeVideo.

To start today's assignment:

1. Go to your Tech & Design folder.

2. Open 03.17_Tinkercad Tools Video Prep

Determine which Boolean operation is shown within each shaded Venn Diagram . Then write the mathematical statement that describes it.

Basic Laptop Rules:

1. No headphones - except when watching assigned videos.

2. Only use the laptop assigned to you.

3. Carry the laptop by the base (not the screen).

4. On task - doing so is worth 10% of your overall grade on the assignment.

How to Prep for a Screencast

1. Clean up your computer - remove desktop icons and minimize/close unused windows.

2. Create a storyboard with script

Video Guidelines. "Tell them what you're going to tell them, then tell the, then tell them what you just told them."

Your video should:

1. Introduce the Tinkercad tool and tell why it is important/useful.

2. Demonstrate how to access the tool.

3. Demonstrate or discuss any keyboard shortcuts.

4. Demonstrate the tool in use.

5. Be no longer than 3 minutes (2 minutes is even better).

6. Briefly discuss/demo uses with other tools.

7. Summarize what people have seen at the end.

• Due the class after: storyboard and demonstration video showing others how to use the tool.
