Leonard Peltier was imprisoned from the FBI raid back in 1977. He just happened to be one of the leaders of the gwola sue resorvation. He was imprisoned for 17 years for crimes he and is tribe did not commit. He did his time for his people and swore to stay true to his beliefs and the ways of his culture even when he was in prison.

what was life like for the native americans

They lived rather a simple life usually following old traditions such as living off the land and following the ways of their culture. In 1977 they got attacked by the FBI.

How does it relate?

This relates to the indian native americans because the gwola sue reservation was under attack by the FBI in 1977. They were forced to throw away their culture and they were sent to jail and enslaved. Just like the Exodus story.

Who is the oppressed group?

The group that was facing oppression were the native americans. They had resertions located in the United states. The FBI were the ones who oppressed the native americans . THey were being oppresesd hen the fbi forced them out of their resorvations and either sent them to jail or enslaved them.
