Transportation during the Victorian era

Cars are finally here!

Motor cars finally came at the end of the Victorian era. By 1890 there was little, not much cars seen and only very wealthy families can afford them. By the 1900s cars were every where on the roads. At that time there was barley any horses ars or wagons seen because cars are faster,easier and cheaper than carriages.

Horse-drawn vehicles

Horse-drawn vehicles was the second most common way of transportation during the Victorian era. However, they were mostly for very wealthy people. There was improvement in carriages during the era such as the hansom cap space for one and then the Clarence for more than two people.

Railways

Railways were introduced during the 1830s. Railways opened many opportunities during the Victorian era. It allowed many people to travel faster than they can imagine. Also goods can be transported very easy and fast.

Beginning of the era

Bicycles and Steamships

Many people at the beginning of queen Victoria's reign had difficulty in traveling. most common use of transportation was walking

At first when bicycles were introduced it was very commonly used by wealth youth however later on it was used by workmen

Regular ships were made as early as the 1700s , in particularly the pedals ships but many of them had problems . When Britain improved its steams they improved in the steamships which was by 1904.
