Learning Objective: YWBAT rotate primitives in Tinkercad

Essential Question: What is the connection between geometric transformations and manipulation of primitives in solid modeling software?

Rotation Puzzle!

Unit 3: Solid Modeling

Do Now: The turkey on the left was the reference model for the design you created last Thursday. The one on the right is a student design. In your notes, answer (2 minutes):

1. What did the student do well?

2. What might the student do to improve their design? Include any tools they would need to accomplish your suggested improvements.

Your assignment (due at end of the period):

  • Complete the Tinkercad Rotation Puzzle and answer the questions within this Google Doc(20 minutes)
  • Return to 02.13_Let’s Learn Tinkercad assignment and finish it (last chance - full credit if you complete it in class).

NOTE: If you have not joined our classroom in Project Ignite, you will need to do this first.

To complete:

1. Pick up your Chromebook.

2. Open "03.02_Rotation Puzzle". Complete in 20 minutes.

3. Return to 02.13. Last chance - completing in class allows you to earn full credit.

Basic Laptop Rules:

1. No headphones - except when watching assigned videos.

2. Only use the laptop assigned to you.

3. Carry the laptop by the base (not the screen).

4. On task - doing so is worth 10% of your overall grade on the assignment.

Use the Rotate and Move tools to arrange the puzzle pieces so that they perfectly match the Elephant design in the top left corner of the workplane.
