Eminem Timeline

Eminem was born on Oct, 17 1972.

Eminem's parents divorced in1975.

In 1983, Eminem's uncle Ronnie gave him a copy of Ice T's Reckless. This introduced Eminem to rap.

"Infinite" is released in 1996

Eminem hits commercial success with his second album "The Slim Shady LP" in 1999.

On May, 23 Eminem released "The Marshall Mathers LP" which also had great commercial success.

Releases his third album "The Eminem Show" and also his hit movie 8 Mile.

Donates $200 000, towards Hurricane Katrina relief in 2005.

Today he is one of the most accomplished artists in the world.

What artists do with their money?

We usually think all artists have an easy life. Since they make a lot of money, they can spend it on anything that they would want.

But, in reality this is not the case. There may be many artists who are making a good amount of money but, they tend to use some of the money on important things rather than on themselves.

The cause for The Marshall Mathers Foundation is At Risk/ Disadvantaged Youth. The Marshall Mathers Foundation helps diadvantaged youth in the stated of Michigan (His Home State). The Foundation has made donations to youth grous and food banks. It also participates in fundraisers with organisations such as Eight Mile Boulevard Association. Eminem donated $10,000 to the family of a 6 year old who had received a kidney transplant.

Marshal Bruce Mather, Eminem is one artist out of many who have decided to use there fortune towards important things. Eminem was born in Detriot, Michigan where he had a very tough child hood. Eminem failed grade 9 three times, even though he was interested in literature, he disliked Math and Science. He dropped out of grade 9. Eminem started taking part in unground rap battles, in which his lyrics were appreciated. His first album "Infinite" released in 1996. Eminem finally reached mainstream success in 1999 when his second album "The Slim Shady LP' was released. Eminem started participating in different charities and created his own foundation.

Small Steps Project

The cause for the Small Steps Project are poverty within children. It is a UK registered charity which helps children around the world who are living in terrible conditions and don't have access to all the life essentials. The organization provides hygiene kits and emergency aid to protect the unfortunate. Eminem donated a great amount of shoes to the Small Steps Project's charity auction. The money made from the auction is used to help the children.

Conclusion

Today Eminem has become one of the most accomplished artists in the world but, along with that, Eminem has participated in four charities and six causes. He has truly used his money on the right thing. Thanks.

Hurricane Katrina Relief

Hurricane Katrina had left New Orleans devastated. With almost half the city under water, New Orleans were in great trouble. Eminem donated $200 000 to help the relief of Hurricane Katrina.
