Embolus: foreign object, such as blood clot or tissue, that is circulating in blood stream.

Pros:
- The loss of vision is usually temporary.
- It can be controlled with a healthy diet and exercise.
- Its most effective treatment is 300 mg aspirin for day.
Cons:
- Sudden loss of vision in one of the eyes.
- It can cause a stroke.
- If you are not seen by an ophthalmologist, you can lose your vision permanently.
Amaurosis Fugax is caused by ischemia to the retina, often associated with carotid stenosis. Does not result in permanent disability. It means you have atherosclerosis and an increased risk for stroke
