- Former presidents owned slaves
- Born February 12, 1809
- Born in Hodgenville, Kentucky
- 6ft 4in.
- Married to Mary Todd Lincoln
- 4 children
- 16th president
- 1861-1865
- Nickname was Honest Abe
- Assassinated by John Wilkes Booth on April 15, 1865
I feel like this is an important memory for Jonas to keep for the community because....
- Without Abe there may still be slavery
- Without him you wouldn't be treated equally because of your race
- Without him the nation still may be divided
Emancipation Proclamation

- Created more equality
- Implemented Freedom for slaves
- Allowed all cultures to serve in the armed forces
