Rules of Debate

Topic: Illegal immigration

Only one persons speaks at a time. You will be given ten minutes with your side to plan your arguments and delegate a group speaker.

Sides have been assigned!

The Proposition: The Constitution does not support the rights of people to freely immigrate to the United States.

Agree or Disagree?

No fence-sitting. During your ten minutes, read the arguments provided by Mr. Gray. Discuss them and clarify.

Time limits

You should be taking notes on the debate. It will be valuable information when writing your essays. You may also consider this topic for your position paper.

You will have two minutes to make an argument, and then the opposing side will have two minutes to respond. We wil go through as many rounds as we have time for. Mr. Gray will step in as needed.

There will be NO PERSONAL ATTACKS TOLERATED! We argue against the idea, not the person.
