Candy Trade Trivia
- Divide the class into two (2) groups.
- Each group gets two bowls.
- Straws are used to move the duty-free goods to the Canadian market.
- For each duty-free good carried to the Canadian market, the team invests $100. Each group is started off with $500.
- You have two (2) minutes to get as many duty free goods in the Canadian market.
- After the trade, eight (8) questions on Caribcan will be asked worth $50 each.
- The team with the most money invested wins.

What is CARIBCAN?
History of CARIBCAN
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Trade, there has been a history of trading between the Caribbean and Canada since the two areas of the Americas were held under British colonist rule. There have been trade agreement between the Caribbean and Canada through the majority of the 20th century. A trade treaty was established between both countries in 1912 followed by an agreement between the Commonwealth Caribbean and Canada in 1925.
The Caribbean-Canada Trade Agreement is a Canadian Government programme established in 1986. This programme was designed by the Parliament of Canada to promote trade and investment. The agreement also provides industrial cooperation through the preferential access of duty-free goods from the Commonwealth Caribbean countries to the Canadian market.
