Obstacles

One of Sybil Ludington obstacles has to deal with her accomplishment, when she went on her night ride it was a cold windy weather and on that night it was raining too.

Accomplishments

Adult life

Sybil Ludington only and important accomplishment, was that she was a heroine of the American Revolutionary War whos accomplished to alert American colonial forces of the approach of enemy troops. Her action was similar to the one performed by Paul Revere, though she rode more than twice the distance of Revere and was only 16 years old at the time of her action.

In 1784, after the war was over, Sybil Ludington married Edmond Ogden. They had a son named Henry. Sybil lived in Unadilla, New York, until she died in February, 1839. She was buried near her father in Maple Avenue Cementery.

Early Life

Sybil Ludington was the oldest of twelve siblings. Her parents were Abigail and Colonel Henry Ludington. She did kitchen work, baby tending, as well as outdoor chores such as working in the fields and mill.

Sybil Ludington was born on April 5, 1761 in Fedricksburg, New York that is now called Ludingtonville. She is famous for her night ride on April 26, 1777 to alert American colonial forces of the approach of the British.

As a result of sybil Ludington courageous, caring, and determination, she traveled approx. 40 miles to alert the American colonial forces that British were coming.
