Cytoplasm/Organ systems

Plant Cell vs. Human body

By: Brian and Jared

Cell Wall/Bones

A plant cell has a cell wall that provides support and structure to the cell.

In a plant cell all life functions except reproduction take place in the cytoplasm.

The human body has bones which support the body and and give it structure.

In the human body all your organs work together to keep your body alive.

Cell Membrane/Mouth

Ribosomes/Pancreas

In a plant cell the cell membrane regulates the passage of materials in and out of the cell.

In a plant cell the ribosomes synthesize (make) proteins for the cell.

Humans have mouths that regulate food and other materials from coming in and out of the cell.

In the human body the pancreas creates insulin for the body which is stored in the liver as glucose.

Nucleus/Brain

The Nucleus in a cell controls all life functions in a cell especially reproduction.

Endoplasmic Reticulum/Blood veins

The endoplasmic reticulum in a plant cell carries different materials throughout the cell and aids in the making of proteins.

The Brain in a human controls the things your body does. Your brain also tells the other organs what to do.

The blood veins in the human body pump blood through the body to supply oxygen and other materials to the organs and muscles.

Chloroplasts/Skin

Plant cells have chloroplasts that convert sunlight into sugars using photosynthesis, which are used as energy for the cell.

Mitochondria/Heart

The mitochondria in a plant cell takes food to make energy (ATP). The mitochondria can also take 2 ATP and make 4 ATP.

Humans have skin and in our skin we have melanin which absorbs vitamin D from the sun and used to keep us alive.

The heart in the human body pumps blood throughout your body to give your other organs oxygen to keep them alive

Vacuole/Stomach

In a plant cell there is a vacuole that store all water and non-living food and waste.

In the human body we have our stomachs that store the food and water for our body.
