Example one:

The light bulb in this lamp represents Physical Science because the tungsten wire inside the bulb glows white-hot when electricity passes through it. The electricity goes into the electrons of the tungsten atoms, causing them to give off photons, light particles.

10 Examples of Physical Science

Topic 7

Example Two:

Glass represents Physical Science because it is created by a chemical process of heating silica sand and other ingredients to a liquid state, then allowing it to cool back to a solid. Different kinds of glass can be made by mixing various other ingredients with the molten silica sand. In science, glass can mean any solid that has an amorphous (non-crystalline) molecular structure.

Topic 6

Example Three:

A battery represents Physical Science because it is a chemical storage device of electrical energy. Inside a battery electrons are stored at the anode (negative charge end), but are attracted to the cathode (positive charge end). The electrolyte gel between the anode and cathode prevents the electrons in the anode from traveling to the cathode. When the battery is connected to the closed circuit of a device, the electrons have to pass through the device to get to the cathode, thus powering the device.
