Trends in Education

Feuding Over Digital

Courseware

I was drawn to this blog because of the nature of our trending educational system. he discussion of actual teachers being replaced by software is alarming to me. The implementation of this program could force some teachers into early retirement. On the flip side, it can encourage newer teachers to incorporate more technology into their lessons. It is important for teachers to know where we arheading with technology and what we are faced with. As an educator, I would use this trending innovation to spark me to add more technology into what I already do in class.

The idea of using apps to encourage students to write captured my interest. I see kids struggling on a regular basis with the writing program. It is extremely important to find a way to help engage students in the learning process. If using technology helps with the success of kids, then we should incorporate as much as possible. I would use this information to help my partner teacher motivate and encourage students with their writing.

I was drawn to this article because of the advancements in technology. I recently signed up for a twitter account and the hash tags caught my attention. I think it is important for people to know that there is a mobile learning lab available to help those in need. The fact that technology comes to a community, helps people that are struggling financially. The learning lab helps with obtaining GED's, tutorial services, application for job centers and many other services. As an educor, I would not use a mobile learning lab, but I think it is a great idea to build off of for Family night. When we invite families to visit our school, some of the services provided can be used to help families that have no other means for technology.

As an educator, I was drawn to this article because I use Promethean active boards regularly. The technology that is incorporated in my classroom involves ClassFlow and all the components of Promethean planet. I think it is important to know what is happening with the multi-million dollar company that we use to help add innovations to our classroom. There will be many changes that could possibly affect how we are using technology in our classroom. NetDragon will be the new software that regulates the whiteboards and their normal operations. Educators use the whiteboards on a regular basis, so keeping up with this particular blog will be in all of our best interest.

Benefits in education:

Living in the technological world that we live in today, it is important for educators to keep up with advancements in trending technology. As educators, it is our job to engage learners in the classroom to ensure their educational success. Students are very well aware of the quickly changing technological world and we need to stay as informed as they are. Aside from engaging our students, technology has many advancements to help struggling learners, as well as enriching the gifted learner. Innovated activities will allow us to keep up with the changing generations and help educate our future leaders. Staying abreast as an educator will allow for an easier transition from old school to new innovations.

There have been many occasions I have had to conduct class in the heat, without AC or any electricity. When I saw the title of the blog, I was very curious to see what other strategies I can implement in those type of situations. It is important for teachers to be able to have enough creativity to help in these heated circumstances. Wasting educational time could make a difference in the success of a student. As an educator, I could use many of the ideas regardless of my current situation. It doesn't necessarily have to be hot in order to benefit from the ideas. Some ideas included going on a scavenger hunt, making QR codes from a field trip, creating a digital design by capturing images on a device and many other amazing ideas!

What I learned:

This was a very good learning assignment for someone my age. Being 44 years old, I am constantly trying to keep up with trending technology. I research ideas on a regular basis to help engage my students in the classroom. The many different sources was overwhelming at first. I followed some sources that didnt fit what I was looking for. However, after following a few othere, I was able to find the blogs that were most important to me with my advancements in technology. I find myself checking blogs regularly just to see whats going on in our continuously changing world of technology in education.
