Myths

The Toltecs told stories of an old world that lasted for 1, 716 years and was destroyed by a great flood. The legend tells of a few people who survived by hiding in a "toptlipetlocali", which means a closed chest. After the flood, these people built a high "zacuali", or tower, as a safe-haven. However, the languages of the people became confused, and the people drifted apart.

The Toltecs say they started as a family of 7 who spoke the same language. They wandered 104 years till they came to Hue Hue Tlapalan, or Southern Mexico.
