The answers to the statements of the problems are also based on what the group realized after analyzing those concerns. To answer the following constraints met, the proponents analyzed the problems and conducted solutions to the stated problems
Alternative Solution
The Existing System
The Interface Computer College currently uses traditional way of organizing and creating class schedules. A schedule is planned by plotting subjects, time, room and instructor to a blank form with corresponding day and time. In this process scheduler cannot always able to recognize schedule conflicts.
ACSS is easy to use. The user doesn’t need to have a costly training to operate this system. However the user must have computer operation knowledge. It’s common for a new software application; at the beginning things may appear a little unfamiliar. But the user gradually be used to it and will find that the system to be quiet easy to operate.
Economic feasibility refers to a study conducted with regards to a project in order to determine if it is capable after careful assessment of its total costs and revenues.
THE END
Concept of Operation
The concept of operation of the existing system of the chosen institution is the use of manual process of scheduling classes.
Schedule maker plots subject, room and instructor to a blank timetable form with corresponding day and time.
Problem Analysis
The general problem of the existing system is the lack of resources that can improve the way of scheduling.
Return Of Investment
Cost and Benefit Analysis
The Return of Investment is based on the formula:
ROI = (Gain from Investment – Cost of Investment)
Cost of Investment
ROI = (60, 000 – 10, 000) ROI = 50, 000 ROI = 5%
10, 000 10, 000
Scope and Limitation Study
Software Development Methodology
Scope
This part will emphasize the areas covered by the proposed Online Scheduling System and the scope of the system’s capabilities. The study will also discuss the services that offered by the use of the proposed system.
The propose system will provide an alternative and easier way of planning and creating class schedules for interface computer college, it also eliminates the difficulties in using the existing system which is manual scheduling.
Limitation
The part will discuss the proposed system’s limitation.
All system has boundaries and limitation capabilities in doing a task. The system is proposed only to a certain educational institute.
Waterfall model is the methodology that is used in planning and developing the proposed project. Upon planning and developing of the proposed the group considers the framework of sequential series of phase also known as System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). SDLC is needed to achieve and develop a full-function system.
The following problems that the researchers encountered:
1. What are the techniques used scheduling?
2. How can we ensure the system’s accuracy in detecting conflicts on schedule?
3. What are the aspects we need to consider in order to develop a system which can adapt the skills of an expert in scheduling?
Sources of Data
Data Gathering Technique
Research and Observation Method. The proponents gathered data and information which is essential for developing and implementing the proposed system. Each member gathered data that helps in understanding the technical and logical need in order to develop a functional and helpful system that will fulfill the needs of the target end users.
The process of creating a schedule deciding how to order these tasks and how to commit resources between the varieties of possible tasks is called scheduling.
Students. Through the help of the proposed system, conflicts on schedules are minimized.
Interface Computer College. Through the help of the proposed system, the school administration can maximize the use of their facilities such as classrooms, computer lab and other. The propose system lessen the burden of scheduling by simplifying it.
Faculty. Through the help of the proposed system, faculty members will benefit specially Mr. Adrian Soriano. Instead of using manual way of generating schedules the proposed will provide easier timetabling.
Researchers. This will serve as a reference for future students and researchers that will develop the same system.
These are the specific objectives the proponents want to achieve:
1. To provide a more accurate way of scheduling of classes.
2. To provide a system that could detect if there's conflict on the plotted schedule.
3. To eliminate the use of manual scheduling and provide easier and effective way of scheduling.
